BELLEQUIN, Jean - 1597 or 1598 Metz - buried 5 March 1636 Amsterdam. An artist<br />

well-versed in making intaglio's. In old collections are several figures<br />

engraved by him, e.g. fighting knights, a smoking soldier, Abraham's sacrifice,<br />

etc. Also Nautilus shells engraved with figures of flowers, butterflies<br />

BELLEKIN, Cornelis - Lived second half of the 17th century in Amsterdam,<br />

died before 1711. Son of Jean Bellequin. Made intaglio's in coral, amber,<br />

pearls and mother-of-pearl. He also engraved Nautilus shells with many beautiful<br />

figures.<br />
