He possessed a cabinet of shells, stones and fossils, sold 16 Oct. 1776, at
the house of Councillor van Nispen at the Paviljoensche Gracht: "Catalogus
••• Boeken en Handschriften, wijders van Hoorens, Schelpen, Steenen, versteende
zaken ... alles nagelaten door wijlen Jacob Spex", 137 nrs. shells,
