He was married with Jannetje van Breda; her brother Anthonie van Breda<br />
(q.v.) had started the collection, which was well known in 1674. A description<br />
of the collection is given in "Wondertoneel der nature ••• " (1706, second<br />
part with fine engravings 1715, Amsterdam). Elenchus tabularius, Haarlem<br />
1719, in Latin and in French. In 1705 the collection was transported to<br />
's-Gravenhage. After the death of his first wife, Vincent married with Agatha<br />
Petronella du Burgoy, who in 1728 married with Jan Bernard van der<br />
Marek, bailiff of Warmond. She kept managing the collection. In 1730 she<br />
showed the collection to Gersaint. During the time of Lyonet (1706-1789) the<br />
collection was in the possession of P. Bout (q.v.). Vosmaer made the catalogue<br />
for Bout (according to a note by Vosmaer himself in a copy of Rumphius'<br />
"Rariteitkamer", in the Artis library) (La Haye 1726). When Bout died<br />
in 1779 the collection was sold and dispersed. Bowrey 1927 (v. 15 June<br />
1698): "Collection of pictures of flowers, beasts, dryed herbs, birds, insects,<br />
shells and many insects, etc. kept in spirits"; Uffenbach 1754 (v.<br />
1711); Valentijn 1726 (v. 1720: "De uitgebreidste die hij ooit zag"); Haller<br />
1883 (v. 1726: "V. is a merchant in damast"). The collection was also visited<br />
by Charles III, King Frederic of Prussia and by the Czar of Russia. A<br />
