He had a menagerie with Japanese and East-Indian animals in the isle of Edam
(near Batavia) which he bequeathed to his friend Joan van Hoorn (q.v.). He

Cabinet sold 1 s-Gravenhage 16 May 1746 (Boekh. nr. 177); (Vosmaer gives
1748). The "'s-Gravenhaagsche Courant", 13 May 1746 gives that the books
were sold 16 May 1.746 and his curiosities on 24 May 1746.
