1924 entered the order of the Capucines. Teacher biology at the
seminary of the order 1932-1972. 1967 collaborator of the RMNH, Started as
an amateur, he became an internationally known, famous specialist in acarology.
By publishing several articles in popular biological periodicals he
greatly contributed to popularize the knowledge of the spiders and he published
a popular book on Dutch spiders.
Possessed a magnificent collection of spiders from N.Guinea, collected by
Father Monulphus, now in the RMNH. His collection of s.-Limburg spiders is
in the Zool. Mus. Maastricht. L. van der Hammen & P.J. van Helsdingen 1972:

"Kermisreiziger" (showman), unmarried, heir and assistant to Bartel
Verhagen (q.v.), who assigned to him his living elephant in 1703. Later he
also showed elephants on the fairs.
