1924 entered the order of the Capucines. Teacher biology at the<br />

seminary of the order 1932-1972. 1967 collaborator of the RMNH, Started as<br />

an amateur, he became an internationally known, famous specialist in acarology.<br />

By publishing several articles in popular biological periodicals he<br />

greatly contributed to popularize the knowledge of the spiders and he published<br />

a popular book on <strong>Dutch</strong> spiders.<br />

Possessed a magnificent collection of spiders from N.Guinea, collected by<br />

Father Monulphus, now in the RMNH. His collection of s.-Limburg spiders is<br />

in the Zool. Mus. Maastricht. L. van der Hammen & P.J. van Helsdingen 1972:<br />
