The "Wegwijs Museum" (opened 1948) with a diversified collection, gathered<br />

by the "Provinciaal Waterleidingbedrijf Noord-Holland".<br />

In 1982 parts of this collection went to museums in Alkmaar and Leiden and a<br />

new visitors centre "De Hoep" was opened to the public. The collection consists<br />

of stuffed animals (esp. birds), skulls, insects, shells and transparencies<br />

showing animal and plant life in the local dune district. Musea<br />
