<strong>Zoological</strong> museum of the <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Zoological</strong> Society, founded 1890; open to the<br />

public in 1936. It contained collections from the adjoining seas. 1be station<br />

A private mineralogical museum has existed in this town for some time in the<br />

Possessed a cabinet (Patin 1676, p. 162 (v. 1671) copied by Misson 1722, p.<br />

34). The cabinet of Laurens van der Hem, Amsterdam, was visited by Cosimo de<br />

Medici in 166 7. He also possessed drawings from the East Indies, and the<br />

Blaeu Atlas, which is now in the National Library of Vienna. This Atlas was<br />
