the <strong>Dutch</strong> East Indian Army. After his retirement in 1905 he became a Curator<br />

of the molluscs dept. of the Zool. Mus, at Buitenzorg (Bogor) till 1921. He<br />

also made collecting trips for that museum.<br />

He possessed an important collection of reptiles, insects and esp. shells.<br />

According to Jutting he entertained exchange relations with many fellow-conchologists.<br />

His collection came in the Zool. Mus. Buitenzorg (Bogor), except
