The destiny of his collection is unknown, but probably has been incorporated
in that of the university of Groningen, in which case it was destroyed during
the fire of 1906. Possessed a shell collection of G.J.A. Haas (q,v.).

This town was well-known for the many celbrities that took their doctor's
degree at the University. This University founded 1648, closed 1811, reopened
as Atheneum 1815, closed 1818.
On the site of the former botanical garden in de Academiestraat is the restored
"Anatomiehuisje". So far as known, only one traveller mentioned the
anatomy: Anon, 1787, in: Bernouilli's Sarnrnlung VII, p. 166. Historical objects
