Prepared birds and mammals living in the vicinity of Bloemendaal and in the<br />

dune-district of South-Kennemerland. Most objects came in the Zool. Mus,,<br />

Amsterdam. Some objects remained at the Municipal Hall at Bloemendaal as<br />

material for educational purposes.<br />

1527. TOUR, Jacob Adriaan, Baron du - bapt. 11 Aug. 1734 's-Gravenhage -<br />

1780 probably Leeuwarden. Representative of the province Friesland in the<br />

States General and in the "Raad van State" (Council of State). "Grietman" of<br />

Het Bildt (Prov. Friesland).<br />

He possessed a menagerie and a cabinet at Haagambacht, near Loosduinen, later<br />

(1760) at "Zandvliet" near Lisse. His cabinet of birds was sold 1776 at<br />

1 s-Gravenhage (Vosmaer 1790). His cashbook is in the Artis Library, cf.<br />
