72 PARTE I.—ANÁLISIS QUÍMICO DE LOS VINOS.queda en el filtro, y se dosa la cantidad de potasa,contenida en el líquido claro al estado de carbonato.Para determinar esta cantidad de potasa, se procedede la manera siguiente: Se coloca el líquido filtradoen una cápsula de porcelana; se calienta hastauna temperatura próxima á la de la ebullición; se lemezclan unas gotas de tintura de tornasol, y se vaañadiendo por medio de una bureta graduada el ácidooxálico normal, que en otra parte quedó indicado;el líquido toma bien pronto un color rojizo, llegadoal cual se le hierve para que se desprenda el ácidocarbónicoque procede de la descomposición del carbonatode potasa (K O, C 0-) por el ácido oxálico, alformarse el oxalato de potasa (K O, H O, C'- O 3 ); encuanto se ha hervido, toma el líquido un color violeta,se continúa añadiéndole ácido normal gota ágota, se vuelve á hervir y así sucesivamente hastaque queda un color rojo persistente. Se ve qué cantidadde ácido normal se ha consumido, y se procedeá determinar la cantidad de bitartrato de la manerasiguiente:Supongamos que se han necesitado 1, c - c - 5 de ácidonormal para saturar la potasa contenida en el líquido,,y recordando que 0,s r -18811 es el Vi 0 0o de equivalentedel bitartrato de potasa correspondiente al Vtooo deequivalente del ácido oxálico, tendremos:1,
