Use the communications port for Support Software to connect the personal<br />

computer to the <strong>Digital</strong> Controller when using EST2-2C-MV4 CX-Thermo or a<br />

version of CX-Thermo higher than 4.00, or other Support Software. The E58-<br />

CIFQ1 USB-Serial Conversion Cable is required to make the connection.<br />

For information concerning the models that can be used with CX-Thermo,<br />

contact your <strong>OMRON</strong> sales representative.<br />

Procedure Use the following procedure to connect the <strong>Digital</strong> Controller to the personal<br />

computer using the USB-Serial Conversion Cable. The USB-Serial Conversion<br />

Cable is used to communicate with the COM port of the personal computer.<br />

To perform communications using USB-Serial Conversion Cable, set<br />

the communications port (COM port) number to be used for the software to<br />

the COM port assigned to the Cable.<br />

1,2,3... 1. Turn ON the power to the <strong>Digital</strong> Controller.<br />

Note If the Cable is connected when the power to the <strong>Digital</strong> Controller<br />

is OFF, power will be supplied from the personal computer and impose<br />

a load on the internal circuits of the <strong>Digital</strong> Controller.<br />

2. Connect the Cable.<br />

Connect the personal computer’s USB port with the Support Software port<br />

on the <strong>Digital</strong> Controller using the Cable.
