Acc<strong>or</strong>dingly, considering the Ge<strong>or</strong>gians of Svaneti and Egrisi<br />

(Odishi, Samegrelo) as societies that lack the written native language is<br />

a falsification of hist<strong>or</strong>y.<br />

Tomasz Wicherkiewicz’group has a recommendation acc<strong>or</strong>ding<br />

to which it is necessary to facilitate creation of the w<strong>or</strong>ks of art and<br />

pieces of music in Megrelian-Laz and Svan languages (p.38).<br />

F<strong>or</strong> at least 15 centuries the Megrels, the Svans and the Laz (the<br />

Chkondidelis, Iovane Minchkhi, Ioane Petritsi, Ambrose Khelaia, Konstantine<br />

Gmasakhurdia, etc.) have created literature and music w<strong>or</strong>ks by<br />

means of the common national Ge<strong>or</strong>gian language. The folkl<strong>or</strong>e was<br />

equally created in these dialects as in those of Khevsureti, Tusheti and<br />

Achara. Why do the auth<strong>or</strong>s of recommendations (being intended <strong>f<strong>or</strong></strong><br />

the Ge<strong>or</strong>gian government), by some reasons, try to separate the Megrels-Laz-Svans<br />

from other Ge<strong>or</strong>gians (the Kartlians, the Tushs, the<br />

Meskhs, etc.) and offer to create "belletristic literature" in Svan and<br />

Megrelian dialects as an alternative to the Ge<strong>or</strong>gian belletristic literature<br />

of hist<strong>or</strong>ical imp<strong>or</strong>tance? 415<br />

The common national classical art and folk art legacy (the Megrelian-Laz-Svan-Khevsurian-Taoan<br />

fokl<strong>or</strong>e, etc., dialectal lexis, cusotoms,<br />

and ethnographic specificities) equally requires care and preservation,<br />

as they constitute the unique Ge<strong>or</strong>gian treasure which is a valuable<br />

gift to mankind.<br />

The opinion stating that the provisions of Part II (Article 7) of the<br />

<strong>Charter</strong> are to cover "unwritten Kartvelian languages" (Megrelian-Laz<br />

and Svan), is unfounded even acc<strong>or</strong>ding to the principles of the <strong>Charter</strong>;<br />

namely, the auth<strong>or</strong>s have probably missed that Part II of the <strong>Charter</strong> can<br />

Chkondidelis, Ilia, Akaki, Vazha, Konstantine (<strong>f<strong>or</strong></strong> Konstantine Gamsakhurdia’s<br />

conception, see the annex) and many other Ge<strong>or</strong>gian writers and she<br />

enriches the common literary language with the Tush flavours.<br />
