Mattress: This is straw-filled bedding that<br />

is hung on rope suspenders. The straw provides<br />

cushioning during sleep. BCT is 1 day for a<br />

ropemaker.<br />

Mirror, polished iron: This piece of iron<br />

is polished to the point of being able to see a reflection<br />

of oneself in it. BCT is 1 day for a blacksmith.<br />

Oil flask: A flask of oil is used for lanterns<br />

or hurling at foes among other uses. BCT is 1 day<br />

for a glassblower.<br />

Pantaloons: These are loosely fitting pants,<br />

tied to one’s waist by a string. BCT is 1/2 day for a<br />

tailor.<br />

Paper: This is a substance on which ink and<br />

writing is applied. For information on paper, see<br />

the Papermaking skill in Chapter 8: Skills. BCT is 3<br />

days per sheet.<br />

Pillow: This is made of cloth and is filled<br />

with feathers. A pillow provides comfort for a<br />

character’s head during sleep. BCT is 2 days for a<br />

draper or weaver.<br />

Pipes, musical: Pipes of varying lengths<br />

and precise pitches are arranged abreast so that a<br />

musician may blow into them to create music. Pipes<br />

may be made of a variety of materials, though wood<br />

is the most common. BCT is 3 days for a carpenter.<br />

Pouch, belt: Leather is closed atop by a<br />

drawstring and attached to a belt when used as a<br />

belt pouch. BCT is 2 days for a girdler.<br />

Robe: A robe is a large piece of clothing,<br />

usually with a hood, which drapes completely around<br />

a character’s body. BCT is 1/2 day for a tailor.<br />

Rope, per 50’: It is most convenient to sell<br />

rope per 50’. Rope itself is made from strands of<br />

hemp or flax twisted and braided together, usually<br />

in a thickness ranging from ¼-5 inches in diameter.<br />

BCT is 1 day for a ropemaker.<br />

Rug: This is woven from rough wool and<br />

placed on the ground. BCT is 1 day for a fuller.<br />

Sack: Made from sackcloth, a sack may be<br />

used to hold and transport goods. In some societies,<br />

criminals are sewn into a sack and drowned. BCT<br />

is 2 days for a draper or weaver.<br />

Saddle: This is a seat shaped to fit the inside<br />

contours of the buttocks of a rider on horseback<br />

and made of a leather-covered wooden frame<br />
