§ A2307 BROOME COUNTY CHA<strong>RT</strong>ER AND CODE § A2302-A<br />

monthly statement. Other funds or fees collected by the Sheriff shall be paid over and<br />

reported to the Commissioner of Finance as above provided, except where otherwise<br />

specifically provided by statute.<br />

§ A2308. Bond of sheriff.<br />

The Sheriff, Undersheriff and such of his deputies, officers and employees as the <strong>County</strong><br />

Legislature shall require shall each give a surety bond to the <strong>County</strong> in a sum fixed by the<br />

<strong>County</strong> Legislature conditioned for the faithful performance of his duties. Such Bond shall be<br />

approved as to form by the <strong>County</strong> Attorney and as to the sufficiency of surety by the <strong>County</strong><br />

Legislature and filed with the Department of Finance.<br />

<strong>Broome</strong> Community College<br />

§ A2301-A. <strong>Broome</strong> Community College; Board of Trustees.<br />

<strong>Broome</strong> Community College, heretofore established pursuant to the Education Law of the<br />

State of New York, shall continue to operate in accordance with said law of the State of New<br />

York and in accordance with this Article. The Board of Trustees shall continue as provided by<br />

law, except that the power of appointment of those trustees authorized by state law to be<br />

appointed by the local sponsor is transferred to and shall be exercised by the <strong>County</strong><br />

Executive, subject to confirmation by the <strong>County</strong> Legislature.<br />

In addition to any notices required by law, the Board shall notify the Chairman of the<br />

Education and Recreation Committee and the <strong>County</strong> Executive or his designee of its<br />

meetings to afford the sponsor the ability to participate in the Trustees' meeting. This<br />

participation shall not include the parliamentary privilege conferred on voting members of the<br />

Board of Trustees by § 6306 of the Education Law.<br />

§ A2302-A. Board of Trustees; powers and duties.<br />

In addition to the powers and duties specified in § 6304 of the Education Law of the State of<br />

New York (such as the power to appoint a President and to appoint or delegate the<br />

appointment of other members of the staff; the power to adopt curricula; and the responsibility<br />

of proposing budgets for and managing capital improvement programs), and notwithstanding<br />

any provisions of this Article to the contrary, the Board of Trustees shall have the following<br />

powers and duties, to be exercised in accordance with applicable state and federal laws:<br />

1. The Board shall have the power to acquire, by deed, gift, devise, bequest or lease, real or<br />

personal property to be used for college purposes, but no lands, goods, buildings,<br />

facilities or equipment shall be purchased or leased unless an appropriation has been<br />

made therefore, or unless otherwise authorized by law. Title to personal property so<br />
