§ 209-1. Name and purpose.<br />

A. The name of this organization is the <strong>Broome</strong> <strong>County</strong> Economic Development Advisory<br />

Council (hereinafter called the "Council"), as established by the <strong>Broome</strong> <strong>County</strong><br />

Legislature (hereinafter called the "Legislature").<br />

B. The goals and purposes of the Council shall include:<br />

(1) Assist the general economic development of <strong>Broome</strong> <strong>County</strong>, with the primary<br />

emphasis on long-term outlook.<br />

(2) Provide a forum where a variety of interests can meet and share ideas while<br />

developing working relationships and providing input to economic planning.<br />

(3) Provide advice to the <strong>County</strong> Executive, Legislature, municipal governmental<br />

bodies and economic development agencies.<br />

(4) Serve as an advisory resource to economic research and planning activities.<br />

(5) Cooperate and assist other organizations in preparing economic development plans<br />

and reports while ensuring consistency with county-wide goals.<br />

(6) Serve as an advisory resource in the development of a comprehensive marketing<br />

plan for the county.<br />

(7) Prepare an annual report on the status of the county's economy and<br />

recommendations.<br />

§ 209-2. Membership.<br />

A. Composition. The composition of voting and ex officio/nonvoting membership in the<br />

Council shall be as follows:<br />
