Other <strong>County</strong> Boards, Offices, Institutions and Functions<br />

§ C2401. Board of Elections.<br />

The Board of Elections, its powers and duties and the method of appointment of the members<br />

thereof by the <strong>County</strong> Legislature shall continue as provided by law.<br />

§ C2402. Probation Office; Director. [Amended 9-27-1976 by L.L. No. 5-1976]<br />

There shall be an Office of Probation, headed by a Probation Director who shall be appointed<br />

by the <strong>County</strong> Executive, subject to confirmation by the <strong>Broome</strong> <strong>County</strong> Legislature, and<br />

shall have such powers and duties as are provided by law.<br />

§ C2403. (Reserved) 13<br />

§ C2404. Traffic Safety Board. [Amended 4-4-1991 by L.L. No. 10-1991]<br />

The Traffic Safety Board, its powers and duties and the method of appointment of the<br />

members thereof by the <strong>County</strong> Legislature shall continue as provided by law. See § A2404<br />

of the Administrative Code.<br />

§ C2405. Additional appointments by <strong>County</strong> Executive. [Amended 12-30-1982 by L.L.<br />

No. 1-1983]<br />

Subject to confirmation by the <strong>County</strong> Legislature, and except as otherwise provided in this<br />

Charter, the <strong>County</strong> Executive shall appoint the head of any other or additional administrative<br />

unit of the <strong>County</strong>, including, among others, the following: Civil Defense Director; Veterans<br />

Service Director; representatives on the <strong>County</strong> Extension Service; Dog Warden; and<br />

Alcoholic Beverage Control Board.<br />

§ C2406. Miscellaneous administrative functions.<br />

Administrative functions not otherwise assigned by this Charter shall be assigned by the<br />

<strong>County</strong> Executive to an administrative unit.<br />

§ C2407. Office for the Aging; Director; appointment; powers and duties; deputy.<br />

[Added 6-5-1973 by L.L. No. 2-1973]<br />

There shall be a Department, to be known as the "Office for the Aging," headed by a Director<br />

who shall be appointed by the <strong>County</strong> Executive, subject to confirmation by the <strong>County</strong><br />

Legislature, and shall serve at the pleasure of the <strong>County</strong> Executive. Said Director shall be in<br />

the unclassified service of the civil service. Except as otherwise provided in this Charter and<br />
