§ C306 BROOME COUNTY CHA<strong>RT</strong>ER § C308<br />

(2) If Deputy <strong>County</strong> Executives have been appointed pursuant to § C304 herein and both<br />

the <strong>County</strong> Executive and Deputy <strong>County</strong> Executives are unable to perform their duties<br />

by reason of absence from the <strong>County</strong> or disability.<br />

In the event that no acting <strong>County</strong> Executive has been designated, the <strong>County</strong> Legislature<br />

may designate an appointive department or executive head to perform the duties of the<br />

<strong>County</strong> Executive as provided hereinabove.<br />

§ C307. Division of Budget and Research; Director; appointment; powers and duties.<br />

There shall be in the Office of the <strong>County</strong> Executive a Division of Budget and Research,<br />

headed by one (1) Director, who shall be appointed by and serve at the pleasure of the <strong>County</strong><br />

Executive.<br />

The Director shall:<br />

(A) Assist the <strong>County</strong> Executive in the preparation and administration of the operating and<br />

capital budgets, the capital program and in the study of administrative efficiency.<br />

(B) Initiate such studies as the <strong>County</strong> Executive, the <strong>County</strong> Legislature or he himself may<br />

deem necessary, except that any such studies shall have some bearing or relation to<br />

<strong>County</strong> government. 3<br />

§ C308. Division of Purchasing; Director; appointment. [Added 12-23-1997 by L.L. No.<br />

1-1998 4 ]<br />

There shall be a Division of Purchasing headed by a Director of Purchasing who shall be<br />

appointed by the <strong>County</strong> Executive.<br />

The Director of Purchasing shall:<br />

(A) In accordance with the requirements for advertising and competitive bidding, authorize<br />

all purchases and sales of materials, supplies and equipment and contracts for the rental<br />

or servicing of equipment for the <strong>County</strong>.<br />

(B) Approve and execute certain contracts as shall be prescribed by the Administrative Code.<br />

(C) Establish and enforce suitable specifications and standards for all supplies, materials and<br />

equipment to be purchased for the <strong>County</strong>.<br />

(D) Perform such other and related duties as shall be required and delegated by the <strong>County</strong><br />

Executive or <strong>County</strong> Legislature.<br />
