Activation takes place via the operating system.NoteEach data service requires time to calculate and thus lengthens the duration of the tightening cycle. Thisis why it makes sense to only activate the necessary data services to avoid delays.7.3.3.1 Configuring the RS232 connection to the partner controllerThe configuration of the necessary parameters takes place via the configuration of the interface.To configure the serial interface:1. In the BS350 operating system, click on System → Tightening channel configuration.2. Double click on the line CS to view the interfaces.3. Under Code, select the IMser interface module and enter the required parameters.Figure 7–32:Configuration of the serial interface in the operating systemNoteThe data necessary for configuration are determined via the partner controller interface. Both interfacesmust have the same settings.Communication between the CS351 Compact System and partner controller will only function correctlyif both interfaces have the same configuration.– Baud rate: Data rate in baud. Data transfer rates of 300 to 19200 baud are available.– If the partner controller permits, you should normally select 9600 baud.– Data bits: Word length.If the partner controller permits, select 8 bit.– Parity: Parity of the data packages.If the partner controller permits, select “no” parity.– Protocol: Handshake process for communication.If the partner controller permits, select “none”.– Stop bits: Number of stop bits.If the partner controller permits, select 1.⇒ After all the parameters have been set, click on Accept to assign the values.7.3.3.2 Sending the configuration to the tightening systemThe interface configuration is only valid after the settings have been sent to the tightening system.System 350 | 3 608 878 040/05.2008
