It is divided into various tighteningsteps, where tightening parameters are set.The tightening programs are stored in the tightening controller. These programs are controlled by a PLCvia PLC signals.6.2.1 PLC signals from the tightening controllerThe Compact System can establish a connection to an external device, such as a partner controller (PLC),external modules, or switches. To make the connection, an interface module is required, e.g. IM24V witha 25-pin Sub-D socket (10 inputs, 13 outputs). The various signals for the tightening controller (start, reset, stop, etc.) must then be assigned to the individual pins (see example in Fig. 6–1). The signals areassigned to the pins in the PLC assignment table. If field buses are used, the signals are not assigned tophysical pins but rather to specific byte areas in the data module. The PLC signals can thus be used tocontrol a tightening cell.PLC assignment tablePin 2 = Input E2E2 = Cw1312514Pin 18 = Input E9E9 = CcwFigure 6–1:Example of PLC signal assignmentThe PLC signals in their chronological order are interlinked with the tightening sequence.A PLC assignment table, which lists the assignment of the PLC signals to the inputs and outputs, can becreated using the BS350 operating system. The operating system's online help provides information onhow to program the assignment tables. The following tables contain an overview of the PLC signals for the tightening process on the tighteningcontroller:– Table 6–1 for the input signals– Table 6–2 for the output signalsThe signals will be described in more detail following the tables.System 350 | 3 608 878 040/05.2008
