7 Data Services Tightening Technology | Bosch Rexroth AG 141/3167.4 Profibus DP communication7.4 Profibus DP communicationThis chapter describes the exchange of data between the CS351 Compact System and a partner controllervia Profibus DP. Profibus DP can be used to transfer identification codes (see page 79) to theCompact System and output tightening results from the Compact System.– Fundamentals of tightening results output via Profibus DP (page 141)– Results output via Profibus DP (page 143)– Formats of the results output (page 146)– Results data transfer with Profibus DP (page 155)– Error messages in connection with Profibus DP (page 156)Examples for tightening systems with data output via Profibus DPIn the CS351 Compact System (Figure 7–37 on page 141), the results output takes place directly fromthe IMpdp interface module, which is inserted in slot A.(1)Figure 7–37: Tightening system with hand-held nutrunners and decentral results output via Profibus DP (1)7.4.1 Fundamentals of tightening results output via Profibus DP7.4.1.1 Protocol descriptionThe data exchange between the tightening system and the partner controllers takes place physically viaan interface module (IMpdp) that is inserted in slot A. The DP protocol (Decentralized Peripherals) forProfibus enables a data transfer according to a master/slave method. In the OSI layer model, the Profibus DP protocol writes to transfer layer 1 (bit transfer layer), 2 (backuplayer) and 7 (application layer).A slave with a data buffer for data communication is implemented in the IMpdp interface module, i.e. thepartner controller, or master, writes the data in the input area and reads the data from the output area ofthe data buffer. The tightening system provides the data accordingly in the output area of the data bufferor takes over the existing data in the input area. The time for the data exchange is stipulated by the master.System 350 | 3 608 878 040/05.2008
