9 <strong>Tightening</strong> Processes <strong>Tightening</strong> Technology | Bosch <strong>Rexroth</strong> AG 209/3169.2 <strong>Tightening</strong> program steps9.2.1.7 ErgoStartFigure 9–6:ErgoStart settingThe hand-held nutrunner functions ErgoStart and ErgoStart Plus influence the start-up behavior (startjerking) and thus the reaction torque that the nutrunner exerts on the worker at the start. The set functionsare active in all tightening steps.If ErgoStart is activated, the nutrunner runs with a speed change up to the target value in the form of alinear incline, with activated ErgoStart Plus in the form of a non-linear incline (i.e. first smaller then largerchanges). The steepness of the incline is dependent on the level set on the slider control. The spindleaccelerates slowest in the Max. position. The start-up behavior can be set in 5 stages from Min. to Max.NoteErgoStart can be used to gently start nutrunners with a large inertia of masses.9.2.1.8 ErgoStop functionsFigure 9–7:ErgoStop settingThe hand-held nutrunner functions ErgoStop, ErgoStop Plus, and ErgoStop Auto influence the brakingbehavior (braking jerking) of the nutrunner at the end of a tightening process. With ErgoStopPlus andErgoStopAuto, the speed is additionally adjusted to the tightening case.The ErgoStop function can be used with the following target functions:– Torque (tightening step)– Upper torque (extended tightening step)– Angle (tightening step and extended tightening step)The ErgoStop functions are deactivated if the set speed is more than 4% over the maximum spindlespeed!ErgoStopIf ErgoStop is activated, the speed in the last tightening step will be decreased linearly from the thresholdset on the slider control (no control), so that the minimum ErgoStop speed is reached when the targetvalue is reached (torque or angle of turn). The spindle brakes slowest in the Max. position. The brakingbehavior can be set in 5 stages from Min. to Max. The speed in the last tightening step may deviate fromthe programmed set value.ErgoStopPlus – Target function Torque:If ErgoStop Plus is activated, the speed in the last tightening step will be automatically controlled,depending on the tightening case hardness determined during the tightening and the target value(torque). There are 5 stages that can be selected by the user to individually vary the torque increasein the end tightening phase. As a result, the experienced reaction torque can be adjusted in 5 stagesfrom hard to soft.– Target function Angle:The speed in the last tightening step is automatically controlled using the defined target angle. Thereare 5 stages that can be selected by the user to individually vary the duration of the end tighteningphase.
