8 Basic Commissioning <strong>Tightening</strong> Technology | Bosch <strong>Rexroth</strong> AG 175/3168.3 Connecting the PC to program the tightening systemTo install the BS<strong>350</strong>:1. Connect the <strong>System</strong> Stick to your computer.2. Make sure that the USB driver is correctly installed.NoteThe USB driver and installation instructions are included on the <strong>System</strong> Stick.3. Execute the file setup.exe.The installation program will start.4. Select the desired language and confirm with OK.5. In the dialog BS<strong>350</strong> V2.000 settings select the Start BS<strong>350</strong> one time option, i.e. BS<strong>350</strong> can onlybe started once on the PC 1) .The BS<strong>350</strong> iconwill appear on the desktop after successful installation.8.3.3 Starting the BS<strong>350</strong>Double click on the BS<strong>350</strong> iconto start the program.8.3.4 Setting up the programming interface8.3.4.1 USB interfaceThe USB interface driver must be installed separately. The necessary files and instructions for this can befound on the USB stick provided with the tightening system (hereafter referred to as the “<strong>System</strong> Stick”).To select the USB interface:1. Make sure that the PC is connected to the Compact <strong>System</strong> via the USB cable (interface X3U3 onthe front).2. Click on PC → Interface in the BS<strong>350</strong> operating system.3. Select the USB interface.4. Click on OK to accept the setting.5. Click on <strong>System</strong> test → <strong>Tightening</strong> channel info to test the connection.8.3.4.2 Ethernet interfaceIn order to operate the tightening system via Ethernet, the PC has to be equipped with an Ethernet interfacecard for network operation.The Ethernet interface in the Compact <strong>System</strong> has the following settings as standard:– IP address: 192.168.1.1– Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0– Gateway 0.0.0.0The rest of the settings are either 0.0.0.0 or empty.To change the IP address:1. Make sure that the PC and tightening cell are connected to Ethernet.If you cannot use the Ethernet connection with the current IP address, additionally establish a directconnection via USB (see page 175).1) The Start BS<strong>350</strong> several times option must be selected if multiple tightening cells are to be controlledby one PC. This way a separate parameter directory can be created for each tightening cell.This will enable you to simultaneously display tightening graphs from several cells (see page 246).<strong>System</strong> <strong>350</strong> | 3 608 878 040/05.2008
