Linking a Revit Architecture File<br />

In this exercise, you learn how to link to a 3-dimensional (3D) drawing created in Revit Architecture for use<br />

as a background. You also learn how to use the Copy/Monitor feature to provide project coordination<br />

between architects and structural engineers. You can copy grids, levels, columns, walls, and floors from the<br />

original design and monitor any changes made to those elements.<br />

Open a new project<br />

1 Click File menu ➤ New ➤ Project.<br />

2 In the New Project dialog, select a template file, select Project under Create New, and click OK.<br />

Notice that Level 2 is bold. This is the active view that displays in the drawing area.<br />

Link a Revit Architecture file<br />

3 Click File menu ➤ Import/Link ➤ Revit.<br />

4 In the left pane of the Import/Link dialog, click Training Files, and open<br />

<strong>Metric</strong>\m_STR_CSM_Revit.rvt.<br />

5 In the Add Link dialog, for Positioning, select Auto - Origin to Origin.<br />

6 Click Open.<br />
