3 Select the Foundation workset, and select Yes for Editable.<br />

You are now the owner of that workset.<br />

4 Under Active Workset, select Foundation, and click OK.<br />

User 2: Check out worksets<br />

5 Click File menu ➤ Worksets.<br />

6 In the Worksets dialog, select the Beams and Columns workset, and select Yes for Editable.<br />

You are now the owner of that workset.<br />

7 Under Active Workset, select Beams and Columns, and click OK.<br />

User 2: Borrow an element from User 1<br />

8 In the Project Browser, expand 3D Views, and double-click 3D-Atrium.<br />

9 On the Options Bar, verify that Editable Only is cleared.<br />

This allows you to select elements that belong to worksets that you do not own.<br />

10 Using the following illustration as a guide, select a footing.<br />

A symbol appears letting you know that it belongs to a workset you do not own.<br />

11 Move the footing.<br />

A warning message informs you that you must obtain permission from User 1.<br />

12 Click Place Request to ask User 1 for permission to move the footing.<br />

After you submit the request, a message informs you that you are waiting for permission from<br />

User 1.<br />

At this point, you should inform User 1 that you are waiting for permission to edit a borrowed<br />

element. Leave this dialog open until User 1 grants permission.<br />

User 1: Grant User 2 permission to borrow element<br />

13 When User 2 contacts you and informs you that a borrowing request is pending your<br />

authorization, click File menu ➤ Editing Requests.
