Notice that columns are placed at each grid intersection. In addition, there are a few extraneous<br />

columns on grid line intersections that are exterior to the structure.<br />

8 Select the columns listed below, which are outside of the structure footprint, and press DELETE.<br />

■ G1, H1, J1, K1<br />

■ G2, H2, J2, K2<br />

■ G5, H5, J5, K5<br />

■ K3, K4<br />

■ A5, B5, C5<br />

Specify base and top of column elevations<br />

Create new levels<br />

9 Right-click the column located at C2, and click Select All Instances.<br />

TIP You may have to zoom into the grid intersection to right-click one of the columns.<br />

10 On the Options Bar, click .<br />

11 In the Element Properties dialog:<br />

■ Under Constraints, enter 600 mm for Base Offset.<br />

■ Under Constraints, enter 600 mm for Top Offset.<br />

■ Click OK.<br />

12 On the Design Bar, click Modify.<br />

13 In the Project Browser, expand Elevations (Building Elevation), and double-click South Elevation.<br />

14 On the Drafting tab of the Design Bar, click Level.<br />

15 On the left side of the elevation, specify a start point for the third level at a distance of 3000<br />

mm above Level 2, and then specify the endpoint aligned with the existing level heads on the<br />

right side.<br />

NOTE If necessary, you can adjust the height by clicking the temporary dimension and modifying<br />

the level elevation. Level 3 should be 3000 mm above Level 2.<br />

Notice the new level is named Level 3. A new structural plan view by the same name is also<br />

created and listed within the Project Browser.<br />

16 Use the same method to create Level 4.<br />

Level 4 should be 3000 mm above Level 3 with an elevation of 9000 mm.<br />

17 On the Design Bar, click Modify.<br />
