9 Under Joist B2, enter 1.5 for Cost, and press ENTER.<br />

10 Right-click the open area next to the schedule, and click View Properties.<br />

11 In the Element Properties dialog, under Formatting, click Edit for Value.<br />

12 In the Schedule Properties dialog, do the following:<br />

■ Click the Formatting tab.<br />

■ Under Fields, select Total Cost.<br />

■ Under Field Formatting, select Calculate totals.<br />

■ Click OK.<br />

13 In the Element Properties dialog, click OK.<br />

The schedule now includes the sum for Total Cost.<br />

Format total cost to include currency value<br />

14 Right-click the open area next to the schedule, and click View Properties.<br />

15 In the Element Properties dialog, under Formatting, click Edit for Value.<br />

16 In the Schedule Properties dialog, do the following:<br />

■ Click the Formatting tab.<br />

■ Under Fields, select Total Cost.<br />

■ Under Field formatting, click Field Format.<br />

■ In the Format dialog, clear Use default settings.<br />

■ Under Units, select Currency.<br />

■ Under Rounding, select 2 Decimal Places.<br />

■ Under Unit Symbol, select $.<br />

■ Click OK.<br />
