4 In the Schedule Properties dialog, do the following:<br />

■ Under Available Fields, select Volume, and click Add.<br />

■ Under Available Fields, select Cost, and click Add.<br />

■ Click Calculated Value.<br />

5 In the Calculated Value dialog, do the following:<br />

■ Enter Total Cost for Name.<br />

■ Select Number for Type.<br />

■ Enter Volume*Cost/1m^3 for Formula.<br />

Note that the formula will calculate the total cost based on a volume unit of 1 cubic meter.<br />

■ Click OK.<br />

6 In the Schedule Properties dialog, click OK.<br />

7 In the Element Properties dialog, click OK.<br />

8 Under Joist B1, enter 3 for Cost, and press ENTER.<br />

Because cost is a type parameter, the value will be applied to all elements of the same type. The<br />

schedule will calculate the total cost for all joists.
