3 Click (Duplicate).<br />

This creates a new material using the selected material settings as the starting point.<br />

4 In the Duplicate Material dialog, enter Concrete - Precast, and click OK.<br />

You have created a new material that can be applied to any model component in this project.<br />

Notice that the material settings have not changed from the material that you duplicated. In<br />

the steps that follow, you modify the material so that it displays correctly in a shaded or rendered<br />

view.<br />

Apply the new material<br />

5 In the Project Browser, expand Views (all) ➤ Floor Plans, and double-click T.O. Fnd. Wall.<br />

6 Select the lower exterior wall, and click .<br />

7 In the Element Properties dialog, click Edit/New.<br />

8 Click Duplicate.<br />

9 Enter Foundation - Custom for the new wall name, and click OK.<br />

10 In the Value field for Structure, click Edit.<br />

11 Click in the Material field for Layer 2.<br />

This layer represents the exterior finish of the wall. It is currently assigned the material Concrete<br />

- Cast.<br />

12 On the right side of the Material field, click .<br />

13 In the Materials dialog, select Concrete-Precast for Name, and click OK.<br />

This is the material you created previously.<br />

14 Click OK 3 times.<br />

The lower wall now uses the Concrete texture when you render it.<br />

15 Select the left foundation wall.<br />

16 Press CTRL, and select the remaining exterior walls.<br />

17 In the Type Selector, select Basic Wall: Foundation-Custom.<br />
