Group rebar columns<br />

Enter rebar data<br />

33 Select both the Bottom Bars and Top Bars headings.<br />

34 On the Options bar, click Group.<br />

A new blank cell is created above the columns.<br />

35 Click the new heading, and enter REBAR.<br />

36 Enter the following rebar set information for each rebar instance as follows:<br />

■ For Joists B1, under Bottom Bars, enter 2-#7A 1-#7B, and under Top Bars, enter 2-#5 C.<br />

■ For Joists B2, under Bottom Bars, enter 2-#6A 1-#6B, and under Top Bars, select 2-#5C.<br />

■ For Joists B3, under Bottom Bars, enter 2-#5A 1-#5B, and under Top Bars, select2-#5C.<br />

The schedule is updated with the joist information.<br />

37 Click File menu ➤ Close.<br />

To save changes, click File menu ➤ Save As, and save the exercise file with a unique name, or<br />

close the exercise file without saving changes. The next exercise uses a new training file.<br />

38 Proceed to the next exercise, Creating an Instance Schedule on page 279.<br />

Creating an Instance Schedule<br />

In this exercise, you create a formula to calculate the unit cost for each joist instance, as well as the total<br />

cost of all structural items for the ground level of the structure.<br />

Training File<br />

■ Click File menu ➤ Open.<br />

■ In the left pane of the Open dialog, click Training Files, and open <strong>Metric</strong>\m_RST_Schedules_Formula.rvt.<br />

Create the formula<br />

1 In the Project Browser, under Schedules/Quantities, double-click Ground Level Concrete Beam<br />

Schedule.<br />

2 Right-click the open area next to the schedule, and click View Properties.<br />

3 In the Element Properties dialog, under the Fields parameter, click Edit for Value.<br />
