27 Click Settings menu ➤ Options.<br />

28 In the Options dialog, click the Graphics tab and make the following changes:<br />

■ Under Graphics, clear Invert background color.<br />

■ For Selection Color, select Red.<br />

29 Click the General tab and make the following changes:<br />

■ Under Notifications, select your preferred Save Reminder interval, and select Normal for<br />

Tooltip Assistance.<br />

■ Under Windows Username, enter the name you want to use during worksharing. Your login<br />

name displays by default.<br />

■ Under Journal File Cleanup, select values for When number of journals exceeds and Delete<br />

journals older than (days).<br />

Journal files are deleted automatically after their number exceeds the value you specify.<br />

Journal files are text documents that record each step during your Revit Structure sessions.<br />

These files are used primarily in the software support process. Journals can be run in order<br />

to detect a problem or recreate lost steps or files. They are saved at the termination of each<br />

Revit Structure session.<br />

NOTE Revit Structure Journal files are normally found in C:\Program Files\<strong>Autodesk</strong> Revit<br />

Structure\Journals. The path may vary depending on your operating system or where you installed<br />

Revit Structure.<br />

30 Click OK.<br />

Specifying File Locations<br />

Notice that the drawing area background colors are no longer inverted and that tooltips display<br />

when you place the cursor over any building component.<br />

31 Click File menu ➤ Close. If prompted, do not save the changes.<br />

32 Proceed to the next exercise, Specifying File Locations on page 75.<br />

In this exercise, you specify your default file locations. These settings control location of important Revit<br />

Structure files such as your default project template, and the family template files, the family libraries, as<br />

well as the material and rendering libraries.<br />

Set file locations<br />

1 Click Settings menu ➤ Options.<br />

2 In the Options dialog, click the File Locations tab.<br />

3 Under Default template file, click Browse.<br />

Notice that there are industry-specific templates that you can set as your default template.<br />

TIP To view a template, you can start a new project with that template. Click File menu ➤ New ➤<br />

Project, and click Browse to select a template.<br />

4 Click Cancel.<br />

5 Under Default path for user files, click Browse.<br />

6 In the Browse for Folder dialog, select the folder to save your files to by default, and click Open.<br />

7 In the Options dialog, under Default path for family template files, click Browse.<br />
