Training File<br />

■ Click File menu ➤ Open.<br />

■ In the left pane of the Open dialog, click Training Files, and open<br />

<strong>Metric</strong>\m_RST_CSM_Wall_Foundation.rvt.<br />

Sketch the continuous foundation<br />

1 In the Project Browser, under Structural Plans, double-click Foundation.<br />

2 Enter ZF.<br />

3 On the Modelling tab of the Design Bar, click Foundation ➤ Wall.<br />

4 Place the cursor over one of the foundation walls, press TAB until the chain of walls is highlighted,<br />

and click to select the foundation wall chain.<br />

A continuous foundation is added.<br />

5 On the Design Bar, click Modify.<br />

Edit foundation properties<br />

6 Select one of the foundation walls.<br />

7 On the Options Bar, click .<br />

8 In the Element Properties dialog, click Edit/New.<br />

9 In the Type Properties dialog:<br />

■ Under Dimensions, for Toe length, enter 450 mm.<br />

■ For Heel length, enter 450 mm.<br />

■ For Foundation Thickness, enter 450 mm.<br />

■ Click OK twice.<br />

Place isolated foundation<br />

10 On the View menu, click Visibility/Graphics.<br />

11 In the Visibility/Graphics dialog, under Visibility, clear Structural Framing, and click OK.<br />

12 On the Modelling tab of the Design Bar, click Foundation ➤ Isolated.<br />

13 In the Type Selector, select Footing-Rectangular: 1800x1200x450 mm.<br />

14 Click the midpoint of each of the concrete columns to place an isolated foundation at each<br />

location.<br />
