Creating a Walkthrough<br />

In this exercise, you learn how to create and edit a walkthrough of the first floor of a townhouse.<br />

You create a walkthrough that begins in the breakfast room of the townhouse, proceeds through the dining<br />

room, and ends in the far corner of the living room.<br />

Training File<br />

■ Click File menu ➤ Open.<br />

■ In the left pane of the Open dialog, click Training Files, and open Common\c_Townhouse.rvt.<br />

NOTE Some imperial values are used by default in this exercise. If you prefer to use metric values, click<br />

Settings ➤ Project Units, and change unit formats as desired.<br />

Create a walkthrough of the first floor of the building model<br />

1 In the Project Browser, expand Views (all), expand Floor Plans, and double-click 1st Floor.<br />

2 On the View tab of the Design Bar, click Walkthrough.<br />

TIP If the tab that you need does not display in the Design Bar, right-click in the Design Bar, and<br />

click the tab in the context menu.<br />

3 To create the walkthrough in a 3D perspective view, on the Options Bar, verify that Perspective<br />

is selected.<br />

4 Move the cursor under the text label in the Breakfast room, and click to specify the start point<br />

(the first key frame) of the walkthrough.<br />

5 Specify 4 additional points to define key frame positions on the walkthrough path as shown.<br />
