Adding Horizontal Framing<br />

In this exercise, you frame 4 bays of Level 2 by adding horizontal members and a steel deck.<br />

Training File<br />

■ Click File menu ➤ Open.<br />

■ In the left pane of the Open dialog, click Training Files, and open <strong>Metric</strong>\m_RST_CSM_Add_Framing.rvt.<br />

Specify beam type<br />

Add girders<br />

1 In the Project Browser, under Structural Plans, double-click Level 2.<br />

2 On the Modelling tab of the Design Bar, click Beam.<br />

3 In the Type Selector, select UB-Universal Beam: 356x171x51UB.<br />

4 On the View toolbar, click , and draw a zoom box around the east area of the structure.<br />

5 On the Options Bar:<br />

■ Specify Level 2 for Plane.<br />

■ Specify Girder for Usage.<br />

■ Click Grid.<br />

6 Select grid lines H and J.<br />

TIP Place the cursor over a grid to display the grid name in a tooltip.<br />

7 On the Options Bar, click Finish.<br />

8 On the Design Bar, click Modify.<br />
