7 Click View menu ➤ Zoom ➤ Zoom to Fit.<br />

Notice that the orientation of the model resembles the site project.<br />

Report shared coordinates<br />

8 On the Tools menu, click Shared Coordinates ➤ Report Shared Coordinates.<br />

This command allows you to determine the location of elements and points in the model with<br />

respect to the shared coordinate origin.<br />

9 Click any component or in any location on the drawing area.<br />

On the Options Bar, notice the coordinates display in regards to the direction and distance to<br />

the origin.<br />

10 On the File menu, click Close. You can save the file if you wish.<br />

In this exercise, you created a new location using the Manage Place and Locations tool. You rotated a view<br />

to true north and used the Report Shared Coordinates tool to locate components in regards to the origin.<br />

Scheduling Components of Linked Files<br />

In this exercise, you schedule components of the host file and of all linked files.<br />

NOTE This exercise requires the completion of the previous exercises within this lesson and the resulting project<br />

files. If you have not completed the exercise, do so before continuing.<br />

Training File<br />

■ On the File menu, click Open.<br />

■ Navigate to the Model Linking folder you created in the first exercise of this tutorial.<br />

■ Select Site_Project.rvt and click Open.<br />

1 Verify that the floor plan Level 1 is the active view.<br />
