4 Select the two gable end lines (the lines without slope definition).<br />

5 On the Options Bar, select Defines Slope.<br />

6 With the two gable end lines selected, on the Options Bar, click (Properties).<br />

7 In the Element Properties dialog, under Dimensions, enter 800 mm for Rise/1000, and click OK.<br />

8 On the Sketch tab of the Design Bar, click Align Eaves.<br />

The eave lines display with a dimension. This dimension is the height of the eave measured<br />

from the sketch plane.<br />

9 Select the left vertical eave to use to align the eaves. When aligning eaves, you must select one<br />

eave to use to align both eaves.<br />

Next, select a method to align the eaves.<br />

10 On the Options Bar, select Adjust Overhang to align the eaves by adjusting the overhang to<br />

match the eave height of the first eave.<br />

11 Select both the horizontal eave lines.<br />

Notice how the overhang adjusts to match the eave height of the first eave.<br />

12 On the Design Bar, click Finish Roof.<br />

13 On the View toolbar, click (Default 3D View) to display the model.<br />

14 If you want to save your changes, on the File menu, click Save As, and save the exercise file with<br />

a unique name.<br />

15 Close the exercise file without saving your changes.<br />

16 Proceed to the next exercise, Creating a Mansard Roof on page 718.<br />
