Creating a Deck Span Transition Detail<br />

Training File<br />

■ Click File menu ➤ Open.<br />

■ In the left pane of the Open dialog, click Training Files, and open <strong>Metric</strong>\m_RST_Deck_Span_Detail.rvt.<br />

Create the drafting view<br />

1 On the View tab of the Design Bar, click Drafting View.<br />

2 In the New Drafting dialog, do the following:<br />

■ Under Name, enter Typical Detail - Deck Span Transition.<br />

■ Under Scale, select 1:10.<br />

■ Click OK.<br />

3 In the Project Browser, expand Drafting Views, and double-click Typical Detail - Deck Span<br />

Transition.<br />

Load detail components<br />

4 On the Drafting tab of the Design Bar, select Detail Component.<br />

5 In the Type Selector, select UB-Universal Beam- Section: 406x178x54UB.<br />

6 Click the drawing area to place the component.<br />

7 On the Design bar, click Modify.<br />

8 On the Drafting tab of the Design Bar, select Detail Component.<br />

9 In the Type Selector, select M_K-Series Bar Joist - Side: 14K3.<br />

10 Position the joist on the right side of the beam.<br />

Align the bottom of the joist seat with the top of the beam as shown.<br />

11 On the Design bar, click Modify.<br />
