BFIND aaaa Search backward in the History File<br />

This <strong>com</strong>mand can be used to search backward,<br />

starting at the current index location, for the string<br />

“aaaa.” If necessary, the file will wrap until it returns<br />

to the same location.<br />

The text string can be up to 12 characters. Special<br />

characters like space, slash (/), and colon (:) are<br />

accepted. Leading or trailing spaces are ignored<br />

unless enclosed in double quotes. For example, the<br />

spaces denoted here are ignored:<br />

INI. The spaces in this string,<br />

however, are included in the search:<br />

“INI”.<br />

When the string is found, the system displays the<br />

current index location. Five text lines are shown,<br />

with the middle line containing the sought string. The<br />

VHST prompt is re-displayed to allow more<br />

<strong>com</strong>mand use. If the string is not found, VHST is<br />

reprompted to allow more <strong>com</strong>mand use.<br />

BFIND Repeats the previous backward search<br />

DOWN BOT Moves to the top of the file<br />

DOWN Move forward 6 lines in the History File<br />

This <strong>com</strong>mand can be used to move forward in the<br />

History File, toward the end. If x exceeds the end of<br />

the file, the end will be shown.<br />

When the move is <strong>com</strong>plete, VHST is reprompted to<br />

allow more <strong>com</strong>mand use.<br />

This <strong>com</strong>mand can be used to search forward,<br />

starting at the current index location, for the string<br />

“aaaa.” If necessary, the file will wrap until it returns<br />
