For systems with XCT (NT8D17 Conference/TDS)<br />

cards, each feature requires a firmware cadence<br />

(XCAD), a software cadence (CNDN) and tone (XTON).<br />

Due to the finer resolution of the firmware cadence (5<br />

ms) <strong>com</strong>pared to the software (96/128 ms), you should<br />

allow the software cadence to be long enough to cover<br />

the full duration of the XCAD.<br />

For example, to define a cadence of 0.1 s on, 0.1 s off,<br />

0.1 s on, steady off<br />

• SPCL<br />

The software cadence is then 0.3 s (600 ms). If the<br />

software precision is 128 ms, the software cadence is<br />

calculated as follows:<br />

• 600 ms/128 = 4.6 = 5 (rounded up)<br />

• 128 x 5 = 640<br />

Entry to on phase = 640/5 = 0128, and to define the<br />

cadence enter 0128 to prompt CDNC.<br />
