“Quale psicoterapia per gli adolescenti antisociali?”
Gli interventi/articoli che seguono sono stati selezionati nell’ambito del Seminario Internazionale
organizzato da Adolescenza&Giustizia-Minotauro e dal Centro Giustizia Minorile di
Milano, all’interno del progetto “Centro per il Trattamento dei Comportamenti Antisociali
in Adolescenza”, finanziato dal Comune di Milano con fondi ex L. 285/97.
Working with antisocial youths and young offenders in a psychological setting is
challenging, as they tend not to ask for help and to act their problems out rather than
working them through. In order to provide evidence-based practice, new programs
have recently developed, targeting the specificity of such group. A Conference was
organized in Milan in February 2009, aimed at understanding the new trends of the
psychological treatment of young offenders in Europe. The experience at the Portman
Clinic in London, where the approach is psychoanalytically oriented, will be described.
A different approach described will be the Multi-Systemic Therapy, started in the U.S.
but developed at the Brandon Centre in London in 2003, where the focuses are the
family and the systems the adolescent lives in. There will also be a comment on the
experience at the Portman Clinic, compared with the interventions carried out in Milan
by the Adolescenza&Giustizia group, a Centre aimed at preventing and treating conduct
problems and antisocial behaviours amongst young people, through various activities
including psychological assessment, consultation and psychotherapy, integrated with
interventions of educational nature. Adolescenza&Giustizia, following an experience
held by the Minotauro Institute for more than 20 years, promotes a scientifically
informed approach to conduct problems and juvenile delinquency, fostering an
exchange between Public Services and private provisions, and the dialogue between
the professionals of the field.

il tema che il seminario intende approfondire è particolarmente delicato e suscita
attenzione in tutti coloro che operano con adolescenti che mettono in atto comportamenti
trasgressivi e antisociali, rilevando l’esigenza di individuare e realizzare interventi sempre
più efficaci che siano in grado di rispondere ai bisogni che con tali comportamenti vengono
espressi.
ringrazio quindi tutti gli intervenuti per il contributo che potranno apportare nel
corso del dibattito e soprattutto i nostri ospiti che ci offrono l’occasione di un confronto
con i nuovi orientamenti internazionali nell’intervento psicologico con gli adolescenti antisociali,
a partire dalle esperienze realizzate in Centri specializzati istituiti in altri paesi. un
