4.8 IONEX<br />

IONEX files are written by the parameter estimation program <strong>GPS</strong>EST and the normal<br />

equation combination program ADDNEQ2 (default extension INX) in addition to ionosphere<br />

files in <strong>Bernese</strong> format (default extension ION). No <strong>Bernese</strong> program reads IONEX files.<br />

The IONEX files contains additional information such as the identification of the agency,<br />

comment lines, or the definition of the data grid. A general file (${X}/GEN/IONEX.), described<br />

in detail in Section 22.4.15, makes it possible to include this information into the<br />

IONEX file automatically. Make sure that you adapt this file to your agency/institution<br />

before writing a IONEX files.<br />
