22. Data Structure The following strategy is used to obtain the coordinates of a given list of station names: (1) If there is no eccentricity file name specified in the menu programs all the stations in the list are assumed to be center stations and the coordinates are directly taken from the coordinate file used. (2) If an eccentricity file is specified, this file is screened for station names in the list, first. • If a station name is found in the eccentricity file the station is assumed to be an eccenter and the eccentricities (DN, DE, DH) or (DX, DY, DZ) are added to the coordinates of the corresponding center stations which in turn, must be included in the coordinate file. • If a station name is not found in the eccentricity file the station is assumed to be a center station and the coordinates will be taken from the coordinate file. Eccenters may also be handled using the antenna eccentricity information in the station information file. Stacking of eccenters of the same center is then possible in ADDNEQ2. In order to include variance-covariance information eccenters should be introduced as local ties on the normal equation level, e.g., imported from SINEX. 22.8.7 Station Velocities Type: ASCII Directory: Campaign-specific directory STA. Extension: VEL Content: Station velocity information. Created by: User-defined, created by ADDNEQ2 (”Menu>Processing>Normal equation stacking”), NUVELO (”Menu>Service>Coordinate tools>Compute NUVEL-velocities”), SNX2NQ0 (”Menu >Conversion>SINEX to normal equations”, or CRDMERGE (”Menu>Service>Coordinate tools >Merge coordinate files”). The format is identical with the coordinate file. You may use ”Menu>Campaign>Edit station files>Station velocities” as assistance for editing the file. Used by: ADDNEQ2: as a priori velocity information or as output file for the velocity estimates. COOVEL (”Menu>Service>Coordinate tools>Extrapolate coordinates”), HELMR1 (”Menu>Service>Coordinate tools>Helmert transformation”), and CRDMERGE. Example: Figure 22.35 and ${X}/DOC/EXAMPLE.VEL. ITRF velocity files (ITRF93, ITRF94, ITRF96, ITRF97, ITRF00, IGS 00 etc.) for most of the global permanent sites are available in the anonymous CODE ftp area (see Section 4.12). Remarks: • Station names have to be identical to the station names of the coordinate files (or center name of the eccentricity file). • The information concerning the local geodetic datum has to be identical to the one in the coordinate file used. • Velocity information (VX, VY, VZ in meter per year) has to be given in the geocentric coordinate system.
