20.4.1.5 Take into Account NNR-NUVEL-1A Velocities (if desired)
This block allows to take into account station velocities according to the NNR-NUVEL-1A
model [DeMets et al., 1994], if so desired. The scripts are executed only if the BPE variable
V PLDINF is defined.
# Take into account NNR-NUVEL1-A velocities (if desired)
402 NUVELO PPP_GEN ANY 1 401
421 CRDMERGE PPP_CRD ANY 1 411
431 ADDNEQ2 PPP_GCC ANY 1 322 421
PID 401 PPP PLD: If the BPE-variable V PLDINF is left blank, the remaining PIDs in this
block are skipped, and execution resumes at PID 421.
PID 402 NUVELO: The velocity field for the stations is computed according to the NNR-
NUVEL-1A model and stored in a Bernese velocity file (extension VEL, in the STA
directory of the campaign).
PID 403 COOVEL: Station coordinates are propagated from the session’s epoch to the coordinate
epoch of the reference frame file (2000-Jan-01 for IGS 00 R.CRD) using the
velocities from the previous step.
PID 411 CRDMERGE: The velocity field generated in PID 403 is merged into the velocity
reference file defined in V CRDREF (e.g., IGS 00 R.VEL). The merged velocity field is
stored in the file defined in V CRDMRG (e.g., IGS 00.VEL). It contains all reference
station velocities, completed by the additional sites in this PPP solution.
PID 421 CRDMERGE: The resulting coordinate file is merged into the coordinate reference
file. It works analogous to PID 411.
PID 431 ADDNEQ2: The merged coordinate and velocity files together with the normal
equation file (generated in PID 322) are used to estimate geocenter translation parameters.
A minimum constraint solution with translation conditions, only, is performed.
The stations used for this datum definition are taken from the list of reference stations
(extension FIX, filename according to BPE variable V CRDMRG). In this example these
are the three IGS core sites: MATE, ONSA, VILL.
For non-global networks this result is a quality check for the PPP and has no geophysical
meaning.
