Figure 4.3: Input options for RXOBV3 (2).
• MARKER NAME: The station name is taken from the characterization of the station
in the keyword MARKER NAME of the RINEX header (4-character ID for RINEX files
from IGS).
• MARKER NUMBER: The station name is taken from the characterization of the station
in the keyword MARKER NUMBER of the RINEX header.
• MARKER DOMES: The station name is composed from the entries of the keywords
MARKER NAME andMARKER NUMBER according to IGS conventions. The first four characters
of theMARKER NAME and the first nine characters of theMARKER NUMBER (assuming
a DOMES number) are concatenated to get names of the form ”ZIMM 14001M004”.
• FILE NAME: The first four characters of the RINEX observation filename are used as
station name.
The first three modes use information from the RINEX file header whereas the fourth mode
makes use of the RINEX filename. The best choice for you depends on the convention
adopted for your campaign. If you have specified a “Station information file” we suggest to use
FILE NAME for the transfer of RINEX observation files from IGS.
The station name obtained in the procedure described above is compared with the OLD
STATION NAME in the section TYPE 001 of the station information file specified in option
“Station information file” (panel “RXOBV3 1: Filenames”). Wildcards are allowed. If the name
is found for a time window covering the observations, the name is translated to the corresponding
new STATION NAME. This new station name is used for all following checks. If
the station is not found or if no station information file is specified, the station name from
RINEX is used as it is.
