4. Import and Export of External File Formats<br />

• MARKER NAME: The station name is taken from the characterization of the station<br />

in the keyword MARKER NAME of the RINEX header (4-character ID for RINEX files<br />

from IGS).<br />

• MARKER NUMBER: The station name is taken from the characterization of the station<br />

in the keyword MARKER NUMBER of the RINEX header.<br />

• MARKER DOMES: The station name is composed from the entries of the keywords<br />

MARKER NAME andMARKER NUMBER according to IGS conventions. The first four characters<br />

of theMARKER NAME and the first nine characters of theMARKER NUMBER (assuming<br />

a DOMES number) are concatenated to get names of the form ”ZIMM 14001M004”.<br />

• FILE NAME: The first four characters of the RINEX observation filename are used as<br />

station name.<br />

The first three modes use information from the RINEX file header whereas the fourth mode<br />

makes use of the RINEX filename. The best choice for you depends on the convention<br />

adopted for your campaign. If you have specified a “Station information file” we suggest to use<br />

FILE NAME for the transfer of RINEX observation files from IGS.<br />

The station name obtained in the procedure described above is compared with the OLD<br />

STATION NAME in the section TYPE 001 of the station information file specified in option<br />

“Station information file” (panel “RXOBV3 1: Filenames”). Wildcards are allowed. If the name<br />

is found for a time window covering the observations, the name is translated to the corresponding<br />

new STATION NAME. This new station name is used for all following checks. If<br />

the station is not found or if no station information file is specified, the station name from<br />

RINEX is used as it is.<br />
