20. Processing Examples
PID 111 PRETAB: Program PRETAB converts the orbit information available in the IGS
SP3c format (Earth fixed frame, extension PRE) into tabular positions in the inertial
frame (extension TAB) for subsequent numerical integration by ORBGEN.
PID 112 ORBGEN: Program ORBGEN integrates the equations of motion using the positions
given in the tabular orbit file to produce a Bernese standard orbit file (extension STD)
used in all processing programs needing orbit information. The orbit is represented
by six osculating elements and nine dynamical parameters associated with radiation
pressure. A summary file (PPPyysssss.PRC) is generated, providing an overview of
the orbit fit quality . It is contained in the processing summary. When relying on IGS
products, the fit rms should be around 1 cm.
PID 121 CCRNXC: This program converts clock RINEX files into a Bernese satellite clock
file (extension CLK). The resulting file has the same name as the RINEX file, but
resides in the campaign’s ORB directory.
The orbit information prepared in these steps is used throughout the further processing,
and is never changed.
Files (page 68), Chapter 5: Preparation of Earth Orientation, GNSS Orbit, and Satellite
Clock Information (page 83), Section 14.3.1: Extracting Satellite Clocks from Clock RINEX
Files (page 298).
20.4.1.3 Preprocess, Convert, and Synchronize Observation Data
The purpose of this PCF block is to prepare the observation data (cleaning on RINEX level
and conversion into Bernese format), to update the station information and coordinate files,
and to synchronize the receiver clocks to GPS time.
PID 201 RNXGRA: Program RNXGRA produces a summary of the available RINEX observation
data, giving a complete overview of observed satellites, involved stations
and their performance. This file appears in the processing summary and may help to
identify possible data tracking problems of observing sites.
