24.2 Convert a Campaign from Version 4.2 to Version 5.0
still available in ”Menu>Conversion>Version 4.2 to 5.0>Old normal equations (binary/ASCII)”. Of course
you will have to run NEQ2NQ0 to convert the binary normal equation files from the old
to the new format before you can introduce them into the new ADDNEQ2 program.
Using these conversion steps you are able to transfer your normal equation files from
one platform (with Version 4.2 installed) to another platform (with Version 5.0 installed):
Convert the files to ASCII using NEQFMT, Version 4.2 , on the old platform;
move the files to the new platform; convert them to binary using NEQFMT, Version
5.0 ; convert the old normal equation files (NEQ) to new normal equation format
(NQ0) using NEQ2NQ0.
Station abbreviation table: The station abbreviation table is now a Bernese style text file.
It is located in the STA-directory of the campaign and has the default extension ABB.
The old menu–panel containing the abbreviation table may be converted into the new
format using program ABBO2N (”Menu>Conversion>Version 4.2 to 5.0>Abbreviation tables (old to
new format)”).
FIX/SIG-files to station selection/station sigma files: The use of the FIX-files andSIG-files for
station selection and constraint assignment in GPSEST and ADDNEQ/ADDNEQ2 of
Version 4.2 has been revised in Version 5.0 . The files have a new format. Each program
accepts only the correct file type:
• The station selection file (default extension FIX, STA-directory) is consequently
used to specify station lists (e.g., for fixing coordinates).
• The station sigma file (default extension SIG,STA-directory) is consequently used
for constraining station-specific parameters:
– three columns of a priori sigmas for constraining coordinates/velocities in
GPSEST or ADDNEQ2, and
– two or four columns of sigmas to constrain troposphere parameters in
GPSEST.
The program SIGO2N (”Menu>Conversion>Version 4.2 to 5.0>Sigma and fix files (old to new format)”)
can be used for the conversion of the files. We refer to the online-help and the detailed
description of these files in Sections 22.8.12 and 22.8.13 for more information.
To edit the new files you can either use a text editor or the ”Menu>Campaign>Edit station
files>Station selection lists” resp. ”Menu>Campaign>Edit station files>Station sigma lists”.
Create a station information file: The station information file in Version 5.0 is one of the
basic files in each campaign (default extension STA, located in the STA-subdirectory).
It contains station related information in five sections:
(1) alternative names of the station,
(2) receiver/antenna type and serial numbers, antenna height,
(3) list of unusable stations,
(4) constraining of station pairs for coordinate/velocity estimation, and
(5) marker type (e.g., to identify Low Earth Orbiter (LEOs) with GPS on board
receivers)
All records are assigned to the station name and a time window. See Section 22.8 for
a detailed description of the file.
This file is used by several programs:
