17.4 Basic Options
Atmosphere specific input files are addressed in Sections 17.5 and 17.6, LEO related files in
Section 17.9.
Please be aware that if you want to do a “zero test” all input files and options have to be
the same as in the subsequently used processing programs.
17.4 Basic Options
Stations for which GNSS observations should be simulated must be selected in panel
“GPSSIM 2: Stations and Observation Window”. Any number of stations from the coordinate
file may be chosen.
The observation window is either “Defined by year and session” or “Defined by start and end time”.
If the last named is selected, a “Session for observation files” must be specified, as well. This is
because the observation window may run over midnight, i.e., more than one session may be
covered by the simulated data. In that case the observation file naming would be ambiguous.
The time interval of the simulated campaign can be selected freely as long as it is covered
by the satellite orbits.
The measurement type to be simulated (code and/or phase) can be selected in panel
“GPSSIM 3.1: Simulation Options” (Figure 17.2).
The options under “OBSERVATION HEADER FILE INFORMATION” define the content of
the created header files. This includes the campaign name and for each station the receiver/antenna
type and number and an operator’s name. All fields except of “Antenna type”
may remain empty.
