19.10.2 Client Protocol and log Files<br />

Every client writes its own protocol file. The unique name of the protocol file is created by<br />

the BPE client and it reads as<br />

${TASKID}${YEAR}${SESSION}_${PID}_${SUB_PID}<br />

The variable ${TASKID} is set in “BPE 3: Output Filenames”. By default the protocol files<br />

reside in the BPE campaign-specific subdirectory and have the extension PRT. They contain<br />

the most important information about the execution of the clients. The files also contain<br />

the error and warning messages generated by <strong>Bernese</strong> programs (irrespective on the error<br />

output selection in the program panels), and strings (MSG or ERR) describe the status of<br />

messages:<br />
