reply agreeing to this proposal the<br />

modifications of the Convention as set forth<br />

herein shall be considered effective upon the<br />

MONSIEUR LE CHARGI D'AFFAIRES,<br />

In a note of the i8th of this month You were<br />

good enough to inform me that in accordance<br />

with the act of Congress approved March 4,<br />

1915, it was incumbent upon Your Government<br />

to express to the Swedish Governement the<br />

desire that Articles ii and 12 of the Consular<br />

Convention of June i, 191o, between the Kingdom<br />

of Sweden and the <strong>United</strong> States of America<br />

should be terminated as of March 18, 1921, and<br />

to suggest, if satisfactory to the Royal Government,<br />

that this should be accomplished by an<br />

interchange of notes. You therefore proposed<br />

to the Swedish Government that articles ii<br />

and 12 of the aforesaid Consular Convention<br />

should be terminated as of March 18, 1921, by<br />

mutual agreement of the two Governments,<br />

parties to the Convention above-mentioned,<br />

and that upon receipt of the Swedish Government's<br />

reply agreeing to this proposal the<br />

.modifications of the Convention as set forth<br />

in Your note should be considered effective<br />

upon the date stipulated.<br />

au Gouvernement Sudois son ddsir de voir les<br />

articles ii et 12 de la Convention Consulaire<br />

du Ier juin 191o conclue entre le Royaume de<br />

Suede et les Etats-Unis d'Am~rique expirer le<br />

18 mars 1921 et de proposer en cas d'agr~ment<br />

du Gouvernement Royal de raliser cet accord<br />

par un 6change de notes Vous avez propos6,<br />

en consequence, au Gouvernement Su~dois,<br />

que les Articles ii et 12 de la Convention Consulaire<br />

susmentionn~e devront expirer le 18 mars<br />

1921, d'un commun accord de la part des deux<br />
