Ottendant la conclusion d'un tel arrangement,<br />
et sous rdserve de rdciprocit4, le Gouvernement<br />
,orv~ien se fera un devoir de ne pas appliquer<br />
n, traitement diff6rentiel au commerce et h la<br />
4avigation du Portugal en Norv~ge sans en<br />
voir donn6 un ais pr~alable de trois mois.<br />
Je serais heureux de savoir que le Gouvernement<br />
Portugais proc~dera de la m~me mani~re<br />
'pour ce qui regarde le traitement du commerce<br />
et de Ia navigation de la Norv~ge en Portugal<br />

YOUR EXCELLENCY,<br />

As the Commerce and Navigation <strong>Treaty</strong><br />
between Norway and Portugal expires on<br />
December 13th next, and as circumstances<br />
do not permit the conclusion of a new arrangement<br />
before this date, I have the honour to<br />
inform Your Excellency that, until such an<br />
arrangement has been concluded, and conditionally<br />
upon reciprocal treatment, the Norwegian<br />
Government will undertake not to<br />
apply differential treatment to Portuguese<br />
commerce and shipping in Norway without<br />
three months' previous notice.<br />
I should be glad to know that the Portuguese<br />
Goverment will act in the same way as regards<br />
the treatment of 'Norway's commerce and<br />
shipping in Portugal.<br />
